The Role of the Advanced Practice Nurse in Oncology Care
The titles clinical nurse specialist (CNS) and nurse practitioner (NP) denote advance practice nursing roles and can be integrated under the title “advanced practice nurse” (APN). The oncology APN is prepared at a minimum of a master’s degree in nursing and has completed education in the specialty of oncology with a precepted clinical oncology experience.
