The Essentials in Oncologic Emergencies for the Advanced Practice Provider course is an overview of fundamental advanced practice cancer care related to the identification, diagnosis, and management of selected oncologic emergencies. This course is designed for new to practice advanced practice providers, recent graduates of APP academic programs, and APPs of other specialties who take care of patients with cancer. It is intended to meet the educational needs of advanced practice providers (nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and/or clinical nurse specialists) in all clinical settings with limited or no prior oncology experience or knowledge and who are interested in identifying advanced concepts in oncology care. Experienced APPs may have interest in taking this course as a refresher in the core concepts of advanced practice cancer care.
This innovative course offering provides a learner-centric design that allows for exploration and discovery of critical content, case studies, and a brief learning assessment to enforce key concepts and objectives.
